As a long-time partner for European Pokémon events since 2016, Fanfinity has supported various Europe-based Pokémon events.
In 2023, we traveled to Yokohama, Japan for the first Pokémon world championships in Asia. As a partner, Fanfinity offered logistic support and tournament operations.
During the 2023 Pokémon World Championships, multiple competitors were crowned the best players and trainers in the world: Players competed in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon video game, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE. As logistic partner, Fanfinity provided the installment of the IT network to facilitate seamless tournament operations. This included establishing the necessary infrastructure through cabling at the venue and the setup of the devices for the Pokémon GO and Pokémon video game tournaments.
Fanfinity faced a constrained timeline for planning and executing this project. Given the scope of the project and the last-minute request, tackling this was a significant efficiency challenge. However, time was not the only hurdle. As the event was hosted in Yokohama, Fanfinity had to overcome the logistical challenges associated with exporting to Japan for the first time. Through a considerable team effort, we successfully transported all equipment from Belgium to Japan together with our partner Citymesh.
